About Me

I was fortunate to grow up in Llanelli, South Wales surrounded by the beach and countryside, where the freshest produce is always readily available. My Mother is a great influence and whilst living there, we would forage the countryside for blackberries, rocket, rhubarb, dandelion leaf, rosehip etc. My Father would often take us to the farmers market every Sunday, where he would buy the freshest produce. My beloved Father sadly passed away in 1996 and he is missed every single day. He taught me so many valuable lessons, which are instilled in everything I do today.Thankfully to my Parents, I already grew up with a greater understanding of food.

I moved to the West Midlands many years ago, however I still visit on most weekends with my Sister and we enjoy cooking with my Mother, making authentic dishes where we use tonnes of different flavours from the freshly ground spices, she often grinds in her huge pestle and mortar..

There was a point in my life, where my health required attention. I suffered from large fibroids in my uterus. It didn’t stop me from doing my daily activities, but it was still bothering me, as I always had a niggling discomfort, as the fibroids were pressing on my bladder,  but as you do, you just get on with it!

A fibroid embolization was carried out in 2014, this is a procedure where they block off the arteries that feed the fibroids, this allows the fibroids to shrink over time. This procedure was successful, in terms of my fibroids, which did shrink a little, however there was not much change in the discomfort as I still always felt like I needed a wee!

A lifestyle change was inevitable

Knowing that I could improve my health by eating better. I decided to go back to what I already knew and embark on a new journey on healthy eating, which led me to where I am today. Improving the quality of life, with food, was a no brainer!

From Childhood up until now, I have always been fascinated with researching food, where it comes from, what it does to the body, nutrition and so forth.  However, on no occasion did Dr Sebi come to light. It all started with my eldest son, he came across an article about Dr Sebi, a well known herbalist and a self-proclaimed healer. He talks about consuming alkaline and plant-based foods and drinking plenty of filtered water. Simply eating food from Mother Nature to nourish your body.

Therefore teamed with teachings from Dr Sebi and my own findings, I decided to eliminate dairy, animal products and processed foods, slowly working my way to more alkaline rich foods eating plant-based wholefoods.

It was not an easy process, it took time and planning to firstly remove the animal products and then the dairy, but then I found myself buying Linda McCartney foods to replace the missing item on our plates. Eventually slowly but surely we got there!

Very quickly I was noticing the difference in how I felt. Even my migraines had gone! This was a real game-changer for my family & I.

My fibroids have shrunk even more, and I have found a new respect for my body, I am healthier, notably more energetic and my food tastes more appetizing.

There was a new sense of purpose. I discovered a whole new level of cooking with wondrous ingredients, it was the best decision I made for myself and better still, my sons & their partners have embarked on the journey with me and they too also like to cook and create fabulous dishes.

I am overjoyed that my Family is experiencing the benefits of plant-based wholefoods and it is wonderful that we are all on this journey together and in turn look after ourselves, our planet and future generations.

Each one of us,  look forward to our mealtimes, we have become mindful of our surroundings and best of all.

Every mouthful is nourishing our body with goodness!
